Residents of Everitt Gardens—our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care community located in St. Albert, Alberta—have gone viral again on TikTok with one of their recent videos, gaining 2.2 million views, thousands of likes, and hundreds of comments. Having gone viral earlier this spring, this was another very exciting moment for the team and residents.

The video, where residents show off their dancing skills to a popular Mariah Carey hit, received public appreciation with comments from “You made my day!” to “We love your residents!” and “I want to move here!” Optima Living encourages a sense of community and coming together to enjoy TikTok trends as a group. Lori Kary, Recreation Therapist of Everitt Gardens, said "It’s not about the views, it’s about the residents. Our resident community is very involved in these videos. Every Tuesday, we have 'TikTok time.' Every clip you see has been put together by a team of twenty to thirty residents behind the scenes, from discussing what we want to do, to filming and participating. It’s a very fun opportunity for drama, improv and having fun together as a community. Residents really love it!”
